Announcing Belle Starr’s Artist in Residence: Christina Swingdler

Collaboration and creativity are at the heart of small businesses, and in celebration of both, Belle Starr is excited to welcome Christina Swingdler, artist and maker of Christina Anastasia jewelry, as the boutique’s resident artist. We have some exciting plans for the year ahead, and we look forward to sharing fun experiences and beautiful new products with our customers.
Our first experience of the Artist in Residence collaboration took place on Saturday, March 1st, featuring a Christina Anastasia pop-up jewelry studio in the Belle Starr storefront (405 2nd Street in Old Town Eureka). Customers who made a Belle Starr purchase had the opportunity to purchase a pair of matching earrings.
Due to the popularity of the event, Christina’s pop-up studio will be returning to Belle Starr on Saturday, May 3rd, from 1-4 and 6-9 pm. Customers who spend $50+ at Belle Starr can also purchase a custom pair of earrings to match for only $25–made by Christina right on the spot! As time allows, custom earrings (made from beads/materials present) will also be available for $50, with no qualifying purchase.

You’ll see more collaborations like this over the coming year, with pop-up boutiques, Friday Night Market collaborations, and in-store events. Also look for the release of Bella Christina jewelry: a couture Belle Starr artist series. There will be four seasonal releases of Bella Christina, timed to coordinate with Belle Starr’s seasonal fashions. Look for the first release of five exclusive limited-edition Bella Christina earrings in April, with a Belle Starr anniversary style in June, another five-style fall release in September, and a Small Business Saturday style in November. Dedicated fans who collect multiple styles over the year will be eligible for additional perks, to be announced.
Thank you for supporting small businesses and makers! We look forward to providing you fashion and fun in the year ahead.
