The Peri straight is one of Jag’s longest-running styles. Its comfortable *mid-rise, pull-on waist lays smooth under tops of all kinds and avoids the bulge of a traditional zipper and button. Curvier women sometimes have to wiggle them up over their hips a bit, but once they do they appreciate the fact that the waist doesn’t gap. A snug fit is generally desirable, as Jag--like all other denim lines--will loosen as you wear them, and (without belt loops) you’ll want them to remain in place.
*Note that Jag recently changed its labeling to identify the Peri jean as a Mid-rise, when it had formerly been called a high-rise. This change in name does not indicate a change in the fit at all. It has the exact same measurements in the past. Instead, the name change has been made to align itself with industry standard, which considers a high-rise jean to be 11.5" or higher. As the Peri rise is 10", it does not fit a high-rise category. The short version: whether the Peri you receive says high or low on the label (it will take some time for the change to take place), it's the same favorite jean you've always worn.
