Dan Dee Silk offers hand-dyed one-of-a-kind silk scarves and garments in brilliant colors to dazzle your admirers. The couple behind the company, Dan and Dee, are retired teachers living in Lake County, CA, who learned about dying silk during their travels and decided to give it a try. Are we ever glad they did!
Is it a scarf? A poncho? a shawl? No...It's a schancho. We're trying out this version of the classic poncho to see what customers think about it. The schancho is a long scarf that is sewn down one side, except for a gap of approximately 16" near the fold. You can pop it over your head and let if fall across both shoulders horizontally (image 1), tuck one end through the hole and wear it as a scarf (image 2), or wear it over your head with the tail end hanging behind you (images 3 and 4).
Color: North Coast Autumn
Size: The schancho starts as a 64" by 20" oblong, which is folded in half and stitched closed along half of the top edge, leaving a 16" gap that can be placed over the head (or through which the ends can be tucked when worn as a scarf.
Fabric: 100% silk
Care instructions: hand wash cold, hang dry
