Cut Loose

garments are a keystone of the Belle Starr ethos and look--casual, quality, earth-friendly clothes that will remain in your wardrobe for years to come. Cut Loose clothing is sewn and dyed to order in San Francisco and uses dyes that are non-toxic, and they neutralize their waste water so the salt doesn’t corrode the city’s pipes. Fabric tests are repurposed--into scarves, napkins, market bags, even scrunchies--and sold at their factory store. Garments are shipped without hangers or plastic bags, using recycled packaging materials, and even their labeling is minimalist.

Cut Loose describes its fit as “implied shape,” meaning the shape of the body is implied in a flattering way. Cut Loose clothes skim the body for a fluid silhouette.  When a Cut Loose garment “fits,” it simultaneously flatters the figure and allows room to really move. Customers often wear their typical size in more fitted items (those with darts or body-hugging fabrics or a size smaller in less-structured items with “flowy” fabric. One Size garments are typically of a drapey fabric and can often be worn by sizes up to 18-20.
